Types of Transitions

Continuity Plan

Continuity Plan

We consider Continuity Plans to be the best place to start the conversation for a transition. A continuity plan gives you the opportunity to put a “safety net” in place while you consider your future options. Basically, it allows for us to pay you or your estate in case of an unforeseen event. Whether it is disability or death, it would allow us to step in and make payments to you or your estate for a time period. It also allows us to get to know each other better and the processes that we work with. A Continuity Plan does not lock you in to continuing to a transition with us, but it does protect you and your loved ones in the event of a catastrophe.

Acquisition

Acquisition

We consider an Acquisition to be either a full or partial transfer of your book of business in a more formal “buyout” scenario. We typically find that the acquisitions we have made came from outside circumstances that are “forcing” the advisor out of the business sooner than anticipated. Whether it is a family or medical reason, we are here to act quickly and provide stability to your business.

Succession Transitions

Succession Transitions

We consider a Succession to be a deeper relationship with you than an Acquisition. The Successions we have done in the past have yielded successful transitions. This transition requires more time between the advisors learning about processes and client experiences. We truly want to replicate what you are doing, and that takes some time.

Merger Transitions

Merger Transitions

We consider a Merger to be the fullest integration of our two practices. The Mergers we have completed have yielded the smoothest transitions and strongest client retention. This transition requires a full integration of our practices and therefore requires the most time between the advisors. We only do Mergers with advisors that we truly feel want to replicate our processes and client experiences. We truly look to train you in how we engage and manage clients.
